Lyrics

There's a man I'd love to tell you about / He was ahead of his time without a doubt / (Spoken: He wasn't concerned about praise / He was a man that did what he had to do / in the time he had to do it)

Mr. Dreamer / you’re the man  / God had your future right in His Hand / You were chosen / You were sent / Your directive / was marked by discontent

I never knew / you had a story / God is using it / to get the glory / Mr. Dreamer / you’re the man  / God had your future right in His Hand /

H. D. Parker / I didn't know / Mrs. A. O. Parker never told me so / You did your best / to tolerate it / they never understood / they had to hate it / They thought that day / they had you beat / when Mr. Dreamer followed God / built Metro (Metropolitan Baptist Church) down the street

H. D. Parker / what a leader / church planter / Mr. Dreamer

They tried their best to stop you / and rob you of your power / They didn’t even know you were the man of the hour / You tried your best to tell them / You tried to make them see / Your dream was not for dreamers / but all humanity

Those crazy dreamers / they’re on a mission / They live to bring the dream / to fruition / They never stop / They never rest / They don't waste time / with other people's mess / They clearly get it / they get it done / They see vision / they write it and start to run /

Mr. Dreamer / you’re the man / God had your future right in His Hand /

They tried their best to stop you / they tried to hem you in / They didn’t want to hear you / preach against their sin / You tried your best to tell them / You tried to make them see / Your dream was not for dreamers / but all humanity

Dreamers see  / what others don't / Dreamers go / where other people won't / They aren’t weary / in well-doin’ / Though discouraged / they keep it movin’ / They never give up / or take it hard / When the others do not share / their zeal to follow God

Piano Solo (I'm gonna play / Mr. Dreamer)

They tried their best to stop you / and rob you of your power / They didn’t even know you were the man of the hour / You tried your best to tell them, You tried to make them see / Your dream was not for dreamers / but all humanity

Mr. Dreamer / the cards were dealt / I've watched history repeat itself / I have my orders / Follow God’s leading / Though they don’t see the plan / just keep on preachin’ / I am a witness / I have a story / And God will use it all / to get the glory /

Mr. Dreamer / now I’m the man / (I'm the man) / Mr. Dreamer / I’m the man / (In God's plan) / Mr. Dreamer / now I’m the man / (Taking a stand) / God’s got my future right in His hand /

Mr. Dreamer / now I’m the man / (I'm the man) / Mr. Dreamer / I’m the man / (In God's plan) / Mr. Dreamer / I’m the man / (Taking a stand) / God’s got my future right in His hand /

Mr. Dreamer / I’m the man / (I'm the man) / Mr. Dreamer / I’m the man / (In God's plan) / Mr. Dreamer / I’m the man / (Taking a stand) / God’s got my future right in His hand /
